To Salvage Or Not To Salvage?
Hello all, bit a noob question here, but I couldn't find a decent answer elsewhere:
I've been getting a lot of salvage item drops. Which is the most profitable way of dealing with the white ones? (no runes attached) a) ID the salvage item then merch it. b) Salvage it for materials and sell to material trader. These are all drops from hard mode, and are worth around 50-100g each at the merchant, if I don't salvage. |

Over time I've built up at least 1 full pile of each regular material (ex: 250 bones, 250 bolts of cloth, etc.) so now that I really have the materials for most armors and such I merchant most everything. I still have a tendency to ID stuff to see what mod is on it, but 9 times out of 10 I end up merchanting it.
Even if an item has a good mod on it I typically find that unless I have a use for it I don't like to spend a long time trying to find a buyer. So basically, my view on this is unless you need to build up a stockpile of materials for something then you'd probably be better off merchanting the stuff. |

Once you have a stack (or two) of each the mats in your storage, just ID and merch. You will rarely get the equivalent gold in mats from a salvaged item than if you just merch the IDd item. Just be aware of what the items salvage into (Wiki tells you) and decide from there.
Also remember to ID everything before you merch it - it adds quite a bit to your total takings for a trip if you do. Some items will maybe only increase in value by 1 or 2 gp but a lot nearly double or more in value. Hope this helps Fight Well Friday |

Thanks for the responses guys - this helps a lot
So far I have just been ID'ing and merching as I already have enough of the materials I need for armour (ussually) |
